After several years during which the football pitches have been unplayable, we are delighted to be able to report that we are almost there in getting it playable again!  The Neighbourhood Council, working with the PACT committee, your local councillors and the Parks and Open Spaces team at Preston City Council have to date raised most of the cash needed to drain the field properly.  The cost will be £60,000, and so far £30,000 has been raised from Veolia, and £5,000 each from the Neighbourhood Council, Preston City and Lancashire County Council, which leaves just £15,000 to go.  We are hoping for good news on the final bid soon – in which case work will start probably in late May, and be completed by September.
