Manifesto for Tulketh

by neildarby on 2 April, 2011

Five Pledges from Neil Darby for Tulketh

1. I pledge to listen to the people of Tulketh
I take great pride in talking and listening to residents and working to follow up on points which are raised with me on the doorstep. I will continue to work to help local people improve their area.

2. I pledge to tidy Tulketh
I want us to be proud of our local area. I pledge that I will fight to clean our streets and alleys – including fly tipping and tougher action on dog fouling that your labour councillors voted against.

3. I pledge to ensure Tulketh roads are safe
Both drivers and pedestrians deserve to be safe on our streets. I will continue to work with local police and authorities to make our streets as safe as possible. This includes tackling speeding and dangerous driving, and seeking to improve roads and pavements where needed.

4. I pledge to be a voice for Tulketh on Preston City Council
What have your Labour councillors done for Tulketh recently? I will give Tulketh a voice on Preston Council, speaking up for residents and giving them a voice. Liberal Democrats on Preston City Council have a proud history of increasing the power of local residents, recently passing a motion proposed by former Tulketh campaigner Cllr John Potter which will give people the right to have a say on planning applications in their area which may affect them and their family for decades.

5. I pledge to be a presence in Tulketh.
Unlike Labour councillors who take Tulketh for granted, only appearing on our streets at election time, I will continue to be on the ground working in Tulketh and talking to residents all year round as I have been doing for months before this election was called.
