On Monday 3rd November, Preston City Council voted to reject the planning application for the Eastway Hub, following speeches from Ingol councillors Pauline Brown and Neil Darby.
This means that work at the Brickworks can progress. The Brickworks site – now incorporated into the Preston Local Plan as the Cottom District Centre – will be submitting their own application for an expanded development before Christmas, which your councillors will be supporting. The Brickworks project may have been a long time coming, but it is now much closer than it was 12 months ago.
On Monday 1st December, another development in Fulwood was opposed by Councillors Brown and Darby as it posed a potential threat to the Brickworks site. This development was given the go-ahead, but Brickworks developers have assured us that they are still pressing ahead in Ingol.
